Softball Signs Transfer Sara Fessler

The Youngstown State softball program has signed junior utility player Sara Fessler to a grant-in-aid to join the program for the 2022-23, Head Coach Brian Campbell announced.
Fessler, who is from Cleveland, Ohio, spent three seasons at Ursuline (Ohio) College and will have two years of eligibility with the Penguins.
Last season, Fessler was named first-team all-conference after batting .442 with 11 doubles, six triples, four home runs and 20 runs batted in. She also scored 37 times, slugged .713 and posted an OPS of 1.203.
In 2021, Fessler batted .323 with seven double, a triple and seven runs batted in.
She owns a career batting average of .378 with 18 doubles, seven triples and five home runs.
Fessler played her high school ball at Magnificat where she was a four-year letterwinner and three-time captain.
A two-time All-Northeast Ohio Honorable Mention selection, Fessler batted .700 during her junior season.
