The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA Regionals on Friday afternoon at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
The Penguins conclude the season with a 15-9 mark while the fourth-seed Buckeyes (25-3) advance to face Columbia in the second round on Saturday. The Guins were making their first NCAA appearance after winning the Horizon League title last Sunday.
YSU came up short in doubles, dropping all three matches. The Buckeyes won 6-2 at No. 1, 6-1 at No. 2 and 6-3 at No. 3. The matches at No. 1 and No.3 doubles ended simultaneously giving them three wins.
In singles play, Ohio State picked up wins at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 1.
