The Youngstown State men's tennis team picked up an impressive 6-1 win over LeMoyne on Friday evening at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Penguins (2-1) won the doubles point and five of six singles contests against the Dolphins (0-1).
In doubles, YSU won all three matches. At No. 1 and No. 2 the Penguins won by scores of 6-4 and at No. 3, they won 7-6 (2).
Youngstown State won four of six singles matches in straight sets. At No. 2, Matteo Ceradelli earned a 6-1, 6-4 win. At No. 4, Rafael Le Fur had a 6-3, 6-2 triumph. At No. 5, Oscar Gippet won his match by a 6-4, 6-3 score and at No. 6, Alex Woiten cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win.
At No. 3, Malo Vernejoul battled for a 7-6 (3), 5-7, 10-2 win. In the tiebreaker, Vernejoul won the fist nine points to grab control of the set. At No. 1, Alexis Maulouet dropped a tough 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 decision.
YSU returns to action next Friday when it plays host to Carnegie Mellon. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
