Senior Elle Buffenbarger struck out eight and allowed just three hits, but the Youngstown State softball team dropped a 1-0 decision to IUPUI in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at the YSU Softball Field.
The Penguins fall 17-14 overall and 6-3 in Horizon League play while the Jaguars improve to 7-24 overall and 5-4 in league play.
The Jaguars scored the game's lone run on a two-out triple by Morgan Gilbert in the top of the second inning.
The Penguins were held hitless and had just five bases runners via three walks and two batters hit by pitches.
Youngstown State is slated to host Niagara, Tuesday, April 6. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
