Penguins Fall to Northern Kentucky, 4-1

The Youngstown State softball team dropped the series finale to Northern Kentucky, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Covelli Sports Complex.
The Penguins fall to 22-19 overall and 7-6 in Horizon League play while the Norse improve to 18-24 overall and 7-11 in league play.
Freshman Bree Kohler went 2-for-3 at the plate and junior Megan Turner hit a solo home run to account for the Penguins' lone run.
The Norse scored three runs in the top of the first inning and added a fourth run in the top of the third to jump out to a 4-0 lead.
Turner's sixth home run of the year cut the Norse lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third.
The Penguins visit Cleveland State in a doubleheader, Tuesday, April 19. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. in Cleveland, Ohio.
