Cleveland, Ohio -- Elle Buffenbarger scattered just seven hits and struck out six and Conchetta Rinaldi hit a home run, but the Youngtown State softball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Cleveland State on Sunday afternoon.
The Penguins fall to 19-15 overall and 6-4 in Horizon League play and the Vikings improve to 14-17 overall and 10-3 in league play.
Rinaldi belted her fifth home run of the season, a solo shot, to put the Penguins up 1-0 in the top of the first inning.
The Vikings, though, scored in the bottom of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to seal the win.
Youngstown State visits Niagara, Tuesday, April 12, for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
