McFadden, Metzler Earn Second-Team MVFC Academic Honors

Youngstown State placekicker Colt McFadden and offensive lineman David Metzler were named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference's Scholar-Athlete Team, the league announced on Tuesday.
Both McFadden and Metzler were tabbed second-team All-Academic for the 2022 season.
McFadden had an outstanding final season for the Penguins earning second-team All-MVFC honors. He made 16-of-22 field goal attempts and was 32-of-32 on PAT tries. In MVFC contests he made 15-of-19 kicks. McFadden was also a second-team academic honoree in 2021.
Metzler started all 11 games at left tackle for YSU. He played in every snap in eight games during the year and was key blocker in YSU's offense that averaged 202.6 yards rushing per game. He played in every snap in eight contests during the 2022 campaign.
