
Women's Soccer Falls to Milwaukee

Milwaukee, Wis. -- The Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped a 7-0 decision to Horizon League leader Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon at Engelmann Field.
The Penguins fall to 1-7-3 overall and 1-1-2 in Horizon League play while the Panthers improve to 9-1-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the league.
The Panthers scored on the opening kickoff when Jelana Sever blasted the kick into the box and over the head of YSU goalkeeper Mackenzie Simon just three seconds into the match, which set an NCAA record.
The Panthers scored three more times in the first half and three more times after halftime.
Simon tallied 12 saves and faced 30 total shots and 19 shots on goal.
Junior Regan LaVigna was credited with all three of YSU's shots and had the Penguins' lone shot on goal.
Youngstown State returns home to host UIC, Saturday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
