Memphis, Tenn. - Freshman Avrey Schumacher belted her first career home run but the Youngstown State softball team dropped a 9-3 decision to Butler on Sunday afternoon.
The Penguins fall 8-5 overall while the Bulldogs improve to 14-7.
Butler scored eight runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an 8-0 lead.
Schumacher belted a three-run blast in the top of the fourth inning before the Bulldogs added another run in the bottom half of the frame.
The Penguins take on Memphis in a doubleheader, Tuesday, March 10 at 2 p.m.
