Softball Drops Two at Memphis

Memphis, Tenn. -- The Youngstown State softball team dropped a pair of games to Memphis, 8-2, and 2-1, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Penguins fall to 8-7 on the year while Memphis improves to 16-9.
In the opener, junior Nikki Saibene belted a two-run home run and Alex DeLeon broke up Memphis' Chyanne Ellet's no-hit bid after five innings with a leadoff single in the top of the sixth.
In the nightcap, freshman Avrey Schumacher had two hits and DeLeon drove in the Penguins only run in the 2-1 loss.
Senior Maddi Lusk struck out five and allowed just one hit in the hard-luck loss.
The Penguins face SEC-member Ole Miss, Wednesday, at 7 p.m.
