Softball Falls Twice at UNC-Wilmington

Wilmington, N.C. -- The Youngstown State softball team dropped a pair of games to Canisius and Eastern Kentucky on day one of the Lafayette Ford Lincoln of Fayetteville Seahawk Softball Invitational.
The Penguins fall to 3-14 on the season after falling to Canisius, 2-1, in eight innings and Eastern Kentucky, 5-2.
Against Canisius, sophomore Elle Buffenbarger tossed a complete game with eight strikeouts.
In the nightcap, senior Lexi Zappitelli and freshman Grace Cea each had run-scoring singles and freshman Addy Jarvis struck out seven in a hard-luck loss.
The Penguins face UNC-Wilmington and Canisius on Saturday at 12:30 and 5:30 p.m.
