
Penguins Drop Regular Season Finale at Milwaukee

Milwaukee, WI - The Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Milwaukee in their final game of the 2019 season on Friday evening from Uihlein Soccer Park.
The Panthers improve to 15-1-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the Horizon League while the Penguins wrap up their season with an overall record of 4-13-1 and a 2-7 mark in the league.
During a scoreless first half, the Panthers controlled possession of the ball and out shot the Penguins 5-0. Their best scoring chance came in the 24th minute when a shot from McKaela Schmelzer was saved by a Penguins' defender.
The Penguins opened the second half with a scoring opportunity on a shot from Kylan Harper in the 46th minute that was saved by Panthers' goalkeeper. Milwaukee answered with a shot in the 54th minute from Mackenzie Schill that forced Kate McEachern to make her first save of the night.
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead just two minutes later when Haley Johnson found the back of the net at the 57:34 mark. Just a little over a minute later, Johnson scored her second goal of the night to give Milwaukee a 2-0 edge.
Milwaukee extended its lead to 3-0 in the 71st minute on a goal from Natalie Auble before ultimately going ahead 4-0 on Johnson's third goal of the match.
For the game, McEachern finished with two saves while Larsen Murvin, Lily Welch, Olivia Polnow and Harper recorded shots for the Penguins.
