Futchi Scores 90th Minute Goal in 1-1 Draw With Green Bay

Green Bay, Wis. - The Youngstown State women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 1-1 tie against Green Bay on Friday night from Aldo Santaga Stadium. Sophomore Isabella Futchi scored her first career goal on a free kick with 41 seconds left in regular time to force overtime.
The Penguins finish the season with a 1-13-4 overall record and a 0-7-2 mark in the Horizon League. Green Bay ends the year with a 2-13-2 overall mark and a 0-7-2 record in league play.
During the first half, Lexi Neal, Rasheda Abdul-Rahman and Sydney Ossege each recorded a shot for the Penguins, but Green Bay out shot YSU 5-4. Freshman goalkeeper Zeeyanna Jivraj finshed the first half with two saves.
In the closing minutes of the second half, Green Bay took a 1-0 lead when Brianna Messner converted a penalty kick in the 87th minute. With under a minute left in regular time, Futchi took a free kick for YSU that found its way into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1, forcing overtime.
In the first overtime period, the Phoenix took two shots but both shots sailed wide of the net. Sammy Salatino and Laurel Prokopchak each took a shot during the second overtime period but neither shot was on target.
The Phoenix out shot the Penguins 13-9, and each team had two corner kick opportunities.
Futchi and Abdul-Rahman led YSU with two shots a piece while five other Penguins each had a shot. Jivraj finished the game with four saves.
