Detroit, Mich. -- The Youngstown State softball team won its 10th straight Horizon League game with a 4-3 victory over Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon. The triumph also tied the program's record for most wins in league play with 15.

The Penguins improve to 27-26 overall and 15-7 in the Horizon League while the Titans fall to 15-30 overall and 12-8 in the league.

Youngstown State, which is 22-9 in its last 31 games, tied the wins mark set in 2016.

Junior Hannah Lucas went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored while senior Brittney Moffatt drove in three runs.

Freshman Maddi Lusk picked up her 14th win of the season pitching five innings while senior Caitlyn Minney collected the save with two scoreless innings of relief.

The Penguins scored twice in the top of the first on Moffatt's run-scoring single that plated Lucas and senior Sarah Dowd's sacrifice fly scored junior Cali Mikovich to give YSU a 2-0.

YSU took a 3-0 lead in the third when Lucas led off with a double, advanced to third on a ground out and scored on Moffatt's sacrifice fly.

Detroit climbed back and tied the game at 3-3 with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Penguins answered with a run in the top of the fifth inning. Junior Stevie Taylor and Lucas each singled to lead off the frame. After sacrifice bunt by Mikovich, Moffatt plated Taylor with the go-ahead run on a ground out to shortstop.

Youngstown State and Detroit Mercy will conclude the regular season with a doubleheader, Sunday, at 11 a.m.
