UIC had another big day at the plate with 19 hits to win the second game of the three-game series with the Youngstown State baseball team 12-2 on Saturday at Curtis Granderson Stadium.

The Flames scored six runs on 10 hits in the first two innings to build a comfortable lead, and starter Ian Lewandowski held the Penguins to two runs despite surrendering 12 hits. Of the Flames' 19 hits, 15 were singles.

Matt Sullivan had three of YSU's hits, and Alex Larivee had two. Seven other Penguins had one hit. Jeff Boehm had three hits and four RBIs, and Alex Lee was 4-for-4 for the Flames.

UIC scored two runs on five singles in the first inning, and YSU answered with a run in the top of the second on Mike Accardi's two-out RBI single. The Flames used a pair of two-run doubles in the second to take a 6-1 lead, and they added a run in the fourth and four more in the fifth. YSU's second run came in the seventh when Sullivan singled in Jason Shirley, and the Flames scored in the eighth for the final tally.

YSU starter Patrick O'Brien was charged with 11 runs in 4.1 innings, and Anthony Konders allowed an unearned run over the final 3.2 innings.

Youngstown State and UIC will conclude their three-game series on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Eastern.
