
YSU Set to Host YSU National Invitational

The Youngstown State track and field programs will be in action at the WATTS for the second consecutive week, this time playing host to the YSU National Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The team-scored meet features 10 schools.
The Penguins will compete against Detroit, Duquesne, Robert Morris, Valpariso, Oakland, Dayton, Saint Francis (Pa.), Ohio and Bucknell.
On Friday, field events (long jump, weight throw and women's pole vault) begin at 4 p.m. with the first running event (5,000-meter run) slated for 5 p.m. Friday's scheduled running events are 500-meter run, 1,000-meter run and Distance Medley Relay.
On Saturday, field events start at 10 a.m. with the first running event slated to start at 11 a.m.
Several YSU athletes had strong performances last week at the YSU Invitational. Winning events were Jennifer Neider (shot put), Ciara Jarrett (200-meter dash), Dorian Davis (triple jump), John Seaver (shot put) and George Thomas (weight throw).
