2013 Outdoor (Junior): Had a best throw of 41.93 meters in the discus at the Northeast Ohio Invitational...had a heave of 50.63 meters in the hammer at the Raleigh Relays.
2012-13 Indoor (Junior): Placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 14.57 meters at the Horizon League Championships...also placed fourth in the weight throw with a heave of 16.55 meters at the HL Championships...was the top weight throw performer during the indoor slate...finished fifth in the weight throw at the Great Dane Classic with a toss of 17.04 meters.
2012 Outdoor (Sophomore): Finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 46.98m at the Horizon League Championships...was seventh in the hammer throw was a toss of 49.17 meters...placed ninth in the shot put at the Horizon League Championship with a throw of 13.5m(44-3 1/2)...earned a third-place finish at the Slippery Rock Open in the hammer competition with a distance of 51.81m.
2012 Indoor (Sophomore): Placed second in the weight throw at the Horizon League Championship with a distance of 17.57m(57-7 3/4)...finished 13th in the shot put with a toss of 12.62 meters...finished 10th in the shot put at the YSU Invitational with a throw of 13.81m, captured the weight throw title with a throw of 17.19m.
2011 Outdoor (Freshman): Had three top-10 finishes at the Horizon League Championships, placing fifth in both the discus (46.96m) and the hammer (49.38m) and adding a sixth-place finish in the shot put (12.76m)…his discus and hammer throws are season bests and also rank sixth and eighth, respectively, on the YSU top 10 charts…finished in 15th place in the discus events at the All-Ohio Championships (43.15m) and Northeast Ohio Quad (37.78m)…claimed 10th in the discus at the Sparky Adams Invitational with a throw of 43.75m…also took 11th in the hammer (44.50m) and 12th in the shot put (season-best 13.99m).
2011 Indoor (Freshman): Placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 16.97 meters at the Horizon League Championships...also competed in the shot put.
High School: Earned three letters in track and field...was team captain...set the high school record for discus (179'9")...named to the First-Team All-Federal League for shot put and discus...coach was T.J. Koniowsky...also participated in football and was a team captain.
Personal: Son of Margaret Leigh and James Thomas...has two sisters and one brother...major is criminal justice.
