Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. -- The Youngstown State men's golf team is tied for sixth place after the opening round of the Horizon League Championships at the Mission Inn Resort.

Green Bay leads the team competition with a 301 while Butler and YSU each shot 315's. Detroit resides in second with a 303, Cleveland State and Valparaiso are tied for third at 304 while Loyola is in fifth with a 314. Wright State carded a 318 during the opening round on Friday.

Leading the way for the Penguins were seniors Anthony Conn and Joe Santisi who are tied for eighth. Conn and Santisi each carded rounds of three-over par (75) on Friday. Conn had one birdie and four bogeys in his round while Santisi had two birdies and five bogeys.

Bryan Yeo is 31st after an openig round 82 while Shayne Wilson and Mark Olbrych are tied for 36th after firing rounds of 83. Olbrych led the way with four birdies during the round.

The second round is set for Saturday.
