Softball Continues Offensive Exploits in 12-7 Win Over Marist

Greensboro, N.C. -- Junior Caroline Krombach went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored to lead a 12-hit attack and guided the Youngstown State softball team to a 12-7 win over Marist on Saturday at the North Carolina A&T Tournament.
Sophomores Sarah Ingalls, who doubled, and Samantha Snodgrass each tallied two hits and freshman Paige Miller picked up her first collegiate victory for the Guins,who improved to 4-2.
Senior Jordan Ingalls drove in two runs and scored twice while senior Haley Thomas, who walked twice, doubled and scored three times.
The Guins used a four-run third inning and a six-run fourth to jump out to a 10-0 lead after four innings.
Marist, though, answered with its own six-run frame in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead down to 10-6.
Thomas doubled to lead off the top of the seveth and, after Jordan Ingalls reached on a fielder's choice, back-to-back singles by Vicky Rumph, who drove in three runs, and Sarah Ingalls lifted the Guins lead back to six runs, 12-7.
The Guins take on Western Carolina, Sunday, at 11 a.m.
