Bowling Green, Ohio -- The Youngstown State men's golf team placed three members in the top 10 at the 54-hole John Piper Intercollegiate hosted by Bowling Green, which concluded on Tuesday.

The Penguins placed fifth in the event out of 10 teams with a three-round score of 906. YSU shot a 291 on Tuesday, which was the third-lowest round of the day. On Monday, the Penguins shot a 313 and a 302. Bowling Green won the event in a playoff over Loyola. Both the Falcons and Ramblers finished with totals of 892.

Leading the way for YSU was Anthony Conn and Mark Olbrych who tied for sixth place. Conn fired rounds of 76, 75 and 70 to finish with a 221 while Olbrych had a 75, 71 and 75 to also finish with a 221. Golfing as an individual, Michael Lower came in ninth with a three-round total of 222 (76-70-76). Lower and Olbrych were tied for first place following the opening two rounds.

Bryan Yeo finished 22nd with a 229 (80-74-75) while Shayne Wilson placed 46th with 242 (86-82-74). Joe Santisi had rounds of 82 and 72 for the Guins.

YSU returns to action on Oct. 3 when it participates in the Cleveland State Invitational.
