Seven-Run First Leads Wright State Past Softball

Dayton, Ohio -- Wright State scored seven runs in the first inning en route to a 12-2 win over the Youngstown State softball team on Sunday afternoon at the Wright State Softball Field.
The Guins fall to 15-13 overall and 0-6 in the Horizon League while Wright State improves to 15-14 overall and 4-2 in the Horizon League.
The Guins were able to plate two runs in the top of the second to cut the deficit to 7-2. Freshman Haley Knight doubled to lead off the frame and scored on an error and Kim Klonowski, who singled, scored on a Sarah Gabel's single to right-center field.
The Guins tallied just three hits the rest of the game and only one runner reached second base.
The Guins host Toledo, Wednesday, April 6, at McCune Park. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
