Durham, N.C. -- Junior Jordan Ingalls tied a single-game record with four hits to lead the Youngstown State softball team to an 8-0 win over Siena on Sunday morning. The Guins also defeated South Carolina State, 9-1.

The Guins improve to 5-3 overall and have won their last four games. The last time YSU had won four straight softball games was in 2010.

Against Siena, the Guins banged out 13 hits and freshman Casey Crozier tossed a two-hit complete-game shutout with four strikeouts.

Senior Kristina Rendle and junior Haley Thomas each tallied two hits while freshman Samantha Snodgrass and senior Kim Klonowski each drove in two runs.

In the nightcap against South Carolina State, sophomore Hana Somogyi picked up her second win of the year striking out seven and allowing just three hits.

Junior Amanda Palmore recorded three hits, including two doubles, and drove in five runs while freshman Haley Knight went 3-for-3 and scored two runs.

Thomas and sophomore Sarah Gabel each went 2-for-2 in the Guins' 13-hit attack

The Guins are off until March 10 when they take on South Carolina State in a doubleheader.
