Second-Half Goal Lifts Loyola Past Soccer, 1-0

Chicago, Ill. -- The Guins had more shots on goal but Loyola scored late in the second half to defeat the Youngstown State women's soccer team, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The Guins fall to 3-10-3 overall and 0-5-2 in the Horizon League while the Ramblers improve to 5-10-3 overall and 1-4-2 in the league.
After a scoreless 73 minutes of play, Loyola's Allison Rydberg lofted a shot past goalkeeper Ali Viola at the 73:18 mark for the game-winning goal.
Viola tallied two saves while her counterpart Katie Groesch recorded five saves - all in the first half.
Freshman Jade Flory led the Guins with three shots while junior Brittany Hayes had two.
The Guins close out the regular season against Valparaiso, Friday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium.
