Ludwig Posts Hat Trick in Collegiate Debut as Soccer Defeats Robert Morris, 3-1

Moon Township, Pa. -- Freshman Allison Ludwig Scores Three Goals to lift the Youngstown State soccer team (1-0) past Robert Morris (0-1), 3-1, in the season opener for both teams on Friday afternoon.
Ludwig becomes the eighth player in school history to post a hat trick and the first player in school history to accomplish the feat in her collegiate debut.
The win also marks the first season-opening win for the Guins since 1999.
Ludwig found the net at the 18:09 mark of the game after a turnover by the Colonials and an assist from senior Lauren Brennan.
Twenty minutes later, Ludwig, who tallied seven shots, put the Guins up 2-0 after an unassisted goal.
With 25 minutes left, RMU's Jennifer Tobar cut the lead in half, but Ludwig answered with her third goal of the game, this one assisted by Katie Peterlin, to seal the victory for the Guins.
Junior goalkeeper Nicole Kline recorded eight saves in her first victory of the season.
The Penguins visit Saint Francis (Pa.), Sunday, at 3 p.m.
