The Penguins improve to 9-22 overall and 2-4 in the Horizon League while the Ramblers fall to 12-14 overall and 4-4 in the league.
The Penguins pounded out 12 hits, including two each from junior Kristina Rendle, freshman Vicky Rumph and sophomore Amanda Palmore.
After falling behind 2-0 after one inning, Grove led of the top of the third with her fourth home run of the season - a solo shot - and cut the deficit in half.
Palmore and sophoore Haley Thomas followed with singles and Rendle singled to center and tied the game by plating Palmore, but was thrown out at second base for the inning's second out.
Junior Kim Klonowski single through the right side and scored Thomas with the go-ahead run, and after another single by sophomore Kristen Philen, Ingalls belted a three-run bomb to put the Penguins ahead, 6-2.
The Ramblers answered with two in the bottom half of the third to bring the score to 6-4, but the Guins responded with one in the top of the fourth to go up 7-4. Palmore doubled to lead off the inning, advanced to third on Sarah Gabel's ground out to second and scored on a wild pitch.
The Guins added two much-needed insurance runs to go ahead 9-4 in the top of the seventh when Grove's sacrifice fly scored Ingalls, who walked and moved to third on Rumph's double to center, and Gabel's single up the middle plated Rumph.
The Ramblers put together a charge of their own scoring three times in the bottom of the seventh. After a leadoff walk and to singles loaded the bases with no outs. Senior Cheryl Cale traded runs for out and induced two straight groundball outs but the Ramblers cut the deficit to 9-6. Following a single up the middle scored Jenna Grim to make the score 9-7 and an error by Klonowski, Cale forced a fly out to right field to end the game.
The Penguins continue their Horizon League road trek with a three-game series at Detroit, April 14-15. First pitch on Wednesday is at 4 p.m.
