Youngstown -- The Youngstown State soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Valparaiso on Friday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.
The Penguins fall to 3-9-2 overall and 0-5 in the Horizon League while Valparaiso improves to 6-8-1 overall and 3-3 in the league.
Valparaiso's Jackie Kondratko gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead with goal at the 20:18 mark.
Rachel Hoaglin, who assisted on Kondratko's goal, extended the Crusader advantage to 2-0 after heading a direct kick from Sarah Melhorn into the net.
The Penguins mustered just three shots and two shots on goal by Natalie Brady and Hannah Snyder.
The Penguins host Butler, Sunday, Oct. 18, at 1 p.m.
