Lizzie Saur

Former Youngstown State women’s golf student-athlete Lizzie Saur will be in her first season as a graduate assistant on the YSU women's golf coaching staff in 2025-26.

Saur competed in every tournament YSU played as a team during her accomplished four-year career, setting a new program record with 104 career rounds played. Saur’s 77.8 career scoring average ranked as the eighth-lowest mark in program history at the conclusion of her career. The Grove City, Ohio, native was a two-time Second-Team All-Horizon League selection and a four-time WGCA All-American Scholar while earning a pair of top 10 finishes at the Horizon League Championship.

As a senior in 2024-25, Saur participated in all 11 tournaments and 28 rounds with a 77.3 strokes-per-round average and a low round of 71. She was named Second-Team All-Horizon League while earning Horizon League All-Academic Honorable Mention honors. Saur earned four top 10 finishes and seven top 25 performances during her final collegiate campaign.

Saur participated in all 11 tournaments and 26 rounds as a junior in 2023-24, averaging a career-best 76.6 strokes per round with a low round of 71. She collected Second-Team All-Horizon League honors, and she was named the Horizon League Women’s Golfer of the Week on Feb. 15. As a sophomore in 2022-23, Saur participated in all 12 tournaments and a total of 23 rounds with a 79.3 strokes-per-round average and a career-low round of 69. She also competed in all 12 tournaments and 28 stroke-play rounds as a freshman in 2021-22, averaging 78.3 strokes per round with a low round of 73.

Saur was named the Ohio Capital Conference Player of the Year in both 2019 and 2020 for Grove City High School. She was a first-team all-conference selection in each of her last three seasons, and she was named second-team all-district in 2018 before being recognized as a first-team all-district pick in 2019 and 2020. Saur garnered second-team all-state honors in 2019, finishing tied for seventh at the state tournament with a two-round score of 145 (73-72). She became Grove City's first-ever female state qualifier, earning the berth by carding a 78 in the district tournament.

Saur graduated from Youngstown State with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in May 2025.
