Drew Willson joined the Youngstown State Sports Medicine family in July of 2023 as a staff athletic trainer working primarily with the football program.

Prior to Youngstown State, Willson, worked at the University of Georgia providing care for the Bulldog football team. Willson also has previous experience working at Northwestern University as an athletic trainer with the women’s cross country and football programs.

Willson received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan in 2012, and he went on to earn his Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Utah in 2014. Willson’s professional interests include emergency management, injury prevention and manual therapy.
