2009 | Freshman: Made seven appearances onthe mound, two of which were starts... Went 0-2 with a 10.12 ERAand six strikeouts in 13.1 innings... Made his first start atAkron, allowing four runs in three innings on a very windyafternoon (3/18)... Did not allow a run in the first two inningsagainst the Zips... Also started at Kent State, but lasted 1.2innings when he suffered a season-ending injury (4/14)... Did notallow a hit against the Golden Flashes, but two of his walks camearound to score once he exited... Threw scoreless innings of reliefat Towson (3/7) and at Pittsburgh (3/25)... Struck out acareer-high three batters in 5.1 innings of relief at James Madison(3/11)... Made his debut in the season opener at Georgia(2/20).

High School: Was a two-year letterwinner forthe nationally-competitive Pirates... helped lead Seton Hall Prepto three straight Non-Public A state championships... his junioryear, the team went 32-1 and was ranked first nationally by USAToday, Sports Illustrated and Collegiate Baseball... The 2007 squadalso won the Iron Hills Conference title, the Newark Tournament andthe New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association title...Pitched with Rick Porcello, the 27th overall pick by the DetroitTigers who was rated the top high school pitcher in the 2007 MajorLeague Baseball Draft.
