Tiffany Patteson

Shortstop Tiffany Patteson has been a consistent performer on the field for the Penguins throughout her softball career and has been an active representative of the program in numerous other facets during her four years at Youngstown State.
In her career at YSU, Patteson has played and started 194 games at shortstop.
She holds school career records with 216 hits, 119 runs scored, 82 walks, 53 doubles and 18 triples. Patteson is second in school history in career at bats (627), second in batting average (.345), third in RBI (89) and fourth with 10 home runs.
In her three campaigns, she has been a two-time first-team All-Horizon League (sophomore and freshman) and was a second-team selection as a junior.
A native of Guelph, Ontario, she has also competed at the international level as part of the Canadian National Team, Olympic Development squads and Pan American Games team while attending YSU.
On campus she has been actively involved in YSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee the past two years and tonight is also being presented the group's leadership award for 2005-06. She also was one of just 324 student-athletes to attend the NCAA's Leadership Conference in the summer of 2005.
During her senior campaign in 2006, she has continued to produce offensively. In 38 games, she has a .348 batting average, the second-highest output of her career.
She has 46 hits, 20 runs scored, 19 RBI, 11 doubles, five stolen bases, three triples, three home runs, 72 total bases and a .545 slugging percentage. In her 147 plate appearances, she has struck out just six times.
As a junior, she posted a .343 batting average with a career-best 60 hits, 28 runs scored, 23 walks, 16 RBI, 13 doubles, four triples, a home run, a .480 slugging percentage and a .417 on-base percentage.
As a sophomore, Patteson had a career-high .352 batting average registering 56 hits in 159 at bats. She had career highs with 37 runs scored, 33 runs batted in and 19 doubles. Her 37 runs scored and her 19 doubles rank as a school single-year best.
She also had three homers, two triples, a .553 slugging percentage and a .432 on-base percentage, both of which were career bests.
In her first season with the program she made an instant impact. As a freshman, she helped YSU to a 36-17-1 record. The Guins bettered the school record for wins in a campaign by seven. YSU also earned two victories in the Horizon League Tournament for the first time in school history.
During her first collegiate season she had a .325 batting average with 54 hits. She had 34 runs scored to go along with 21 RBI. Patteson had 10 doubles and a school-record nine triples as well as three homers. She had a .548 slugging percentage and a .417 on-base percentage.
An exercise science/physical therapy major, Patteson owns a 2.92 cumulative grade-point average. She is the daughter of Pam and Rob Patteson.
