2019 (Freshman): Made nine starts and six relief appearances as a pitcher… Appeared in 15 games and made four starts as a position player — two at first base and two as the designated hitter… Finished with a 2-5 record and a 6.89 ERA in 62.2 innings on the mound… Struck out 42 batters while walking 36… Ranked second on the team in innings, starts and victories while ranking third in strikeouts… Ranked 13th in the league in innings pitched, and only one freshman logged more… His 62.2 innings were the most by a YSU freshman since 2012… Ranked tied for 15th in the league in strikeouts, and only three freshmen had more… Made six starts and three relief appearances in Horizon League play… Posted a 2-2 record and a 7.13 ERA over 41.2 innings… Fanned 29 batters while walking 24 in league action… Recorded more than three outs in 14 of his 15 outings… Earned his first win after permitting four runs on eight hits over 7.2 innings against UIC (4/6)… Named Horizon League Pitcher of the Week on April 22 after allowing only three hits and striking out a season-high eight batters over 7.2 innings in a win over Northern Kentucky (4/19)… Did not allow a hit over two scoreless innings of relief in the first game of a doubleheader at nationally-ranked Mississippi State (2/16)… Surrendered two runs and struck out four over six innings in a no-decision against Wright State (5/4)… Allowed just one earned run on three hits and fanned four over five innings at UIC (5/11)... High School: Was ranked the 24th overall prospect in the state of Pennsylvania and the ninth overall pitcher by Prep Baseball Report… Coached by Bill Wilson at Rocky Grove High School… Also coached by the legendary Don Pletcher of the Baird Brothers Youngstown Class B summer team, which earned a third-place finish in the Palomino 18U World Series… Three-year varsity letterman in baseball and basketball… Two-year letterman in golf… Named the D10 Player of the Year for two consecutive seasons… Named 2017 Perfect Game Underclass Honorable Mention.
