Greenaway Selected to Serve as YSU Presidential Mentor

Youngstown, Ohio — Kaitlyn Greenaway, a sophomore on Youngstown State's bowling team, has been selected to serve as a Presidential Mentor at YSU for the 2026-27 academic year.
Greenaway, a native of nearby Boardman, Ohio, who is majoring in exercise science, will be among a diverse group of students on campus who will provide counsel to YSU President Bill Johnson and university leaders. The Presidential Mentors are scheduled to meet four times each semester to share ideas on how to improve the student experience at YSU.
Greenaway is also a leader in YSU's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, serving as one of the bowling program's representatives on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Additionally, she is a participant in the Student-Athlete Leadership Development Academy.
Greenaway is entering her second season with Youngstown State's bowling program in 2026-27. She bowled in 388 frames as a freshman and recorded a high game of 232. Before becoming a Penguin, she was a standout at Boardman High School, leading the Spartans to a state championship while being named the Ohio Division I Player of the Year in 2024.
YSU will begin its season on Oct. 16-18 at the Chelsea Gilliam Penguin Classic at Holiday Bowl in Struthers, Ohio.
