Penguins Open Fall Tournament Campaign at WMU Betsy Kuhle Invite

The Youngstown State women's tennis team opens fall tournament play this Friday and Saturday at the WMU Betsy Kuhle Invitational at the Sorenson Courts and West Hills Athletic Club.
YSU will have eight players in singles and doubles play at the two-day event.
Making their Penguins debuts are Kariman Buqai, Vasiliki Goraniti, Duru Kuscu and Alice Petrache. Back from the 2025-26 Horizon League Champions are Lorena Cedeno, Yeseniiia Ovcharova, Hanna Telzynska and Lydia Foster.
Ovcharova and Telzynska led the Penguins with 20 singles wins last year. In doubles, Cedeno had a team-leading 18 wins.
The Invitational will feature three singles matches and three doubles matches per player.
Friday will feature a round of doubles followed by two rounds of singles, while Saturday will start with two rounds of doubles, followed by a round of singles.
Known teams participating in the tournament are Cleveland State, Western Michigan and YSU.
YSU last participated in the tournament in September 2023.
