Petrache, Ovcharova Perfect In Singles at WMU Betsy Khule Invitational

Kalamazoo, Mich. – Yeseniia Ovcharova and Alice Petrache posted perfect 3-0 singles records to lead the Youngstown State women's tennis team at the two-day Betsy Khule Invitational hosted by Western Michigan.
For her efforts at the event, Petrache was named to the all-tournament squad in her Penguins' debut.
Friday's matches were played outside at the Sorenson Courts while Saturday's action was moved indoors at the West Hills Athletic Club.
Overall, YSU picked up 11 singles victories at the event with Lorena Cedeno and Duru Kuscu added two wins to the overall total.
In doubles, the Penguins added five overall victories. Ovcharova and Kariman Buqai earned two victories. Buqai teamed up with Hannah Telzynska for another doubles triumph.
The Penguins return to action on Oct. 2-3 when they compete at the Toledo Invitational.
