Brabant Joins YSU Bowling Staff as Graduate Assistant Coach

Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State head bowling coach Doug Kuberski announced Monday that Andrew Brabant has joined his staff as a graduate assistant coach.
"Andrew brings with him a wealth of experience both on and off the lane as a coach and competitor," Kuberski said. "He also has a well-rounded skillset that he constantly updates to stay ahead of the changes to our sport. We are thrilled to welcome Andrew to our staff and know he's not only going to fit into our culture, but add to it as well."
Brabant served as the head coach of the boys bowling team at Struthers High School from 2021-26, leading the Wildcats to the state finals twice during his tenure, in 2022 and 2023. He has also worked as a front desk attendant, mechanic and coach for school-aged students at Holiday Bowl, YSU's home center, for six years.
Outside of bowling, Brabant is a substitute teacher at Struthers High School.
Brabant was a collegiate bowler at the University of Pikeville from the 2017-18 through 2019-20 seasons. He was named to the Academic All-Mid-South Conference team and earned National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete honors in 2019.
Before competing for the Bears in Kentucky, he helped lead Struthers to four straight appearances at the state tournament, including a runner-up finish in 2014, and three All-American Conference titles. Brabant, the 2015 conference player of the year, became the school's first student to sign a bowling scholarship.
Brabant earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Youngstown State in 2021 and a Master of Science in Sport Administration from the University of Cincinnati in 2024.
