Indianapolis, Ind. – For the fourth time this season, Youngstown State freshman Kennedy Kimball has been named the Under Armour Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Kimball is the first Youngstown State pitcher tabbed pitcher of the week four times in the same season. She previously won the award on March 2, March 23, and March 30.
Kimball fired a complete game and scattered six hits with four strikeouts in YSU's 8-3 win over Oakland. She picked up her league best seventh Horizon League victory and retired the final 10 batters she faced.
The Windham, Maine native leads the Horizon League with a 7-1 record, a 3.31 earned run average and a .232 opponent batting average against league foes. Overall, Kimball is tied for the league lead with 11 victories, leads the conference with a 2.97 ERA and four shutouts and ranks fourth with 81 strikeouts.
Youngstown State is the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2026 Horizon League Championship and will play the winner of the No. 4 Oakland-No. 5 Green Bay game on Thursday, May 7. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. at the Covelli Sports Complex.
