The Youngstown State men's and women's cross country programs were named 2025 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams for their impressive academic performances, the association announced recently.

The women's squad holds a 3.7 cumulative team grade-point average while the men have a 3.44 cumulative team GPA.

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.

In 2024, both the men's and women's programs won Horizon League Championships. It was the first sweep of both titles by the programs since 2014.

For their efforts in the classroom, six Penguins were named Academic All-Horizon League honorees.
