Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State junior bowler Elizabeth Teuber earned three medals while competing for Team USA last week at the 2026 Pan American Women's Championship in Bogotá, Colombia.
Teuber, a native of Holly, Mich., competing in her first season as a Penguin, won silver medals in the trios and team events while also claiming a bronze medal in doubles. She was two pins shy of winning a medal in singles and finished fourth.
Jade Cote, a member of Youngstown State's 2024-25 National Championship team and a mainstay on Team Canada, earned a bronze medal in the team format.
Teuber's best day on the lanes came in the opening round on Tuesday when she shot 1,269 over six games in the singles competition. She finished fourth, just two pins behind bronze medalist Juliana Botero.
Teuber earned her first medal in doubles, a bronze while bowling with Maggie Thoma, and she followed that with a silver in trios alongside Breanna Clemmer and Julia Bond. The Americans earned silver in the team competition behind Colombia, which caught fire in the back half of the set to average 216.73 over the final three games.
Cote was in the medal hunt on the final three days of the championship, and she finished with a bronze in the team event. She was the top bowler for the Canadian team in the event with a 1,255 set. Cote finished sixth in total pins across all events, and she averaged an impressive 212.28 over the final three days.
Teuber now rejoins the Penguins as they prepare for the start of the 2026-27 season, which begins Oct. 16-18 at Holiday Bowl in Struthers, Ohio.
