The Youngstown State football program had six student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced.
Penguins selected as a CSC Academic All-District honorees due to their credentials in the classroom and on the field include QB Beau Brungard, OL Joe Sferra, PK Andrew Lastovka, DB DJ Harris, OL Van Keen and TE Alex McDonald. Brungard and Lastovka have also been nominated for Academic All-America honors which will be released later this month.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 27.
