Cote, Marx, Moore Repeat as Academic All-District Selections

For the second straight season, the trio of Jade CoteMadyson Marx and Kirsten Moore are representing the Youngstown State bowling program on the Academic All-District® Women's At-Large team, selected by College Sports Communicators. The award recognizes student-athletes for their combined excellence both athletically and academically.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA —  in the sports of Women's Beach Volleyball, Women's Bowling, Women's Crew/Rowing, Men's and Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Men's and Women's Ice Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Rifle, Men's and Women's Skiing, Men's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Water Polo and Men's Wrestling.

Cote, Marx and Moore are each finalists for the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, the results of which will be announced on July 8. Marx and Moore are Academic All-District selections for the third straight season, while Cote is on the team for the second time in her career.

Cote finished up her career being named a First-Team All-American by the National Tenpin Coaches Association for the second consecutive season. She ranked among the top three bowlers in the country in overall scoring average (21.38 pins per frame) and strike percentage (58.1%) at the end of the regular season, and she was named the Most Valuable Player at the NCAA Championship as YSU's anchor bowler. Cote owns YSU's career records for overall scoring average, Baker average and strike percentage.

Marx was also a First-Team All-American in 2024-25, marking the third straight season in which she earned national honors. She averaged a career-best 210.71 in traditional play in 2024-25, and she also set career highs in fill-frame percentage and strike percentage as a fifth-year senior. Marx was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Final Four as she averaged an impressive 22.54 pins per frame at the event, and finished her career as YSU's all-time leader in traditional game average.

Moore was selected as the NCAA Elite 90 Award Winner for the second straight season in 2024-25 for having the highest GPA at the finals site, and she ranked second on YSU's national championship team in total frames. She finished her career with the most tournament wins in school history with three, and she also set program career marks for matches bowled and total pinfall. She averaged 23.51 pins per frame in Baker play at the Final Four, which is the second-best average for a tournament in program history.
