Cote, Moore Experiencing Success in First Summer on Tour
Recent Youngstown State graduates Jade Cote and Kirsten Moore have both gotten off to good starts in their professional bowling careers on the PWBA Tour this summer.
Moore has bowled in each of the first five tournaments on the national tour since it began on May 8, and she is in her fifth different state competing professionally this week. Cote has appeared in each of the last four tour stops. After making it through the pre-tournament qualifier on Tuesday, both former Penguins are beginning qualifying in the 2025 U.S. Women's Open, the second major tournament of the season, this week in Lincoln, Neb.
Moore is averaging 214.10 as a professional, which is 27th on the tour in 2024-25. Her best finish was a tie for fifth at the PWBA Rock 'n' Roll Open on June 2 as part of the Summer Series in Cleveland, and she also finished among the prize earners last week at the PWBA Bowlers Journal Waterloo Open. She is currently second in points in the race for Rookie of the Year.
Cote is averaging 212.68 over her first four professional events, and her best finish came in her first major, the USBC Queens in Las Vegas. Cote finished in a tie for 13th and averaged 214.27 over 30 games, and she won her first two bracket matches and fought off elimination once. Cote also finished among the prize winners at the PWBA Bowlers Journal Waterloo Open last week with a 24th-place finish, and she is currently fourth in points among rookies.
