Indianapolis, Ind. – The Youngstown softball team dropped a pair of a games to IU-Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon.
The Penguins (11-32, 3-11) fell to the Jaguars twice, 7-0, and 10-4.
In the opener, sophomore Macy Littler led the Penguins with a 3-for-3 performance while senior Taylor Truran went 2-for-2.
In the nightcap, the Penguins jumped out to a 4-0 lead through three-and-a-half innings.
The Penguins scored twice in the top of the second inning keyed by a Kami Diaz run-scoring single and a sacrifice fly by Littler.
Youngstown State expanded its lead to 4-0 after Kennedy Dean, who doubled, scored on Kami Diaz's run-scoring single ripped a two-run double to left-center field.
The Jaguars scored three runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings, and added two in each of the fifth and sixth frames for the win.
Youngstown State and IU Indy square off on Sunday at 12 p.m.
