The Youngstown State football team will play its annual Red-White Spring Football Game on Saturday morning at Stambaugh Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. The contest will be carried live on 570 WKBN.
Admission for the contest is free while parking is available in nearby YSU lots for $5. Seating for the contest will be in the West stands only.
The game will feature the Offensive (Red Team) vs. the Defense (White Team) in a format that will include a variety of scrimmage-like situations.
The first half will include two 15-minute quarters with normal clock procedures. The second half will have a continuous 20-minute running clock.
Warmups for the game will begin at 10:10 a.m.
Key offensive Penguins returning from last year's squad include QB Beau Brungard, QB Brady Shannon, OL Desmeal Leigh, OL Van Keen, OL Shane Keenan, WR Max Tomczak, WR Luke Hensley, WR Richard Dandridge, TE Colt Sechrest, TE Austin Bray, TB Da'Shaun Watley and TB Jaden Gilbert.
Top defensive Guins returning from last season's team include DB DJ Harris, DB Makai Shahid, DB Jordan Rudolph, DB Isiah Hackett, LB Mike Wells, LB Preston Zandier, LB Carston Marshall, DE Michael Voitus, DE Dashawn Carter and DE Ebony Curry Jr.
The specialists, which include PK Andrew Lastovka, PK Jonathan Schmidt, Â punters Brendon Kilpatrick and Alex Grace and long snapper Nathan Boozer, will play for both teams.
