
Men’s Golf Continues Spring Schedule Friday at Jackrabbit Invitational

The Youngstown State men's golf team will continue its spring schedule on Friday when it begins play in the two-day Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
The Penguins finished 16th in their spring season opener at the World Golf Village Collegiate on Feb. 24-25. YSU recorded a 319 in the opening round before concluding the event with a 310 in the second and final session. Freshman Jordan Kish finished tied for 18th with a two-round score of 150 (78-72) to pace the Penguins individually and collect his second top 25 finish of the campaign.
The tournament field at the Jackrabbit Invitational will feature nine other schools including Embry-Riddle, Niagara, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, Saint Francis, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, USC Upstate and Western Illinois.
The teams will play 36 holes on Friday and 18 holes on Saturday in the two-day, 54-hole event. Play is scheduled to begin with shotgun start at 10 a.m. ET each day. The course will play approximately 7,402 yards and par is 72. Live scoring will be available via Scoreboard Live through links posted on YSUsports.com and the program's social media channels.
Head Coach Tony Joy has announced that YSU's five-player lineup will feature Kish, Jacob Sylak, Jake Ryan, Ryan Sam and Nolan Shilling. In addition, Michael Porter, Ayden Richmond and Rocco Turner will be competing as individuals for the Penguins.
Kish, Ryan and Sam have competed in all seven events YSU has played this season while Porter and Shilling have each participated in six tournaments. Sylak has competed in five events this season while Richmond and Turner have each participated in a pair of tournaments.
