Guins Set For Three Contests in Three Days In North Carolina

The Youngstown State men's tennis team is in North Carolina to play three matches in three days starting on Wednesday.
YSU (7-2) faces Queens (2-7) on Wednesday, Davidson (5-5) on Thursday and Charlotte (5-5) on Friday.
Wednesday's match against the Royals is set for 3 p.m. at the Howard Levine Tennis Center. Thursday's contest is slated for 2:30 p.m. at the Davidson Tennis Courts. Friday's contest at Charlotte is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
The Guins were last in action on Feb. 22 when they defeated Mercyhurst 5-2 at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The last matchup against Queens, on record, was on March 18, 1990 in Hilton Head, S.C. (a 6-3 YSU win). YSU has never played Davidson or Charlotte.
This is YSU's first trip to the state of North Carolina since March 2023.
Mihai Haita leads the Guins with six dual singles wins while Filip Avdeev, Onder Balci, Ethan Dasset and William Rassat all have five. YSU is 37-17 in singles matches this spring.
In doubles, Balci and Dasset are 6-2 while Avdeev and Haita own a 5-3 mark. As a group, the Guins are 8-1 at No. 2 doubles so far this spring.
