Bowling Green, Ohio – The Youngstown State softball team's (7-26) three game win streak was snapped after dropping a pair of games to Bowling Green (12-18), 7-4, 12-4, on Wednesday afternoon.
In the opener, Kennedy Dean and Lydia Wilkerson each went 2-for-4 and a run batted in while Taylor Truran also had a run-scoring single
The Penguins jumped out to a 2-0 lead in game two after scoring a pair of runs in the top of the first inning.
Macy Littler reached on an error to lead off the game, advance to second on Bree Kohler's bunt single and moved to third on a fly out. After Kohler stole second, Elyssa Imler's bunt single plated both Littler and Kohler.
Bowling Green took a 6-2 lead after plating five runs in the first and another in the second. Youngstown State trimmed the deficit to 6-4 on Kami Diaz's two-run double in the top of the third.
The Falcons, however, plated three more runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth.
Imler went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the nightcap.
Youngstown State begins an eight-game homestand when it hosts Mercyhurst in a doubleheader, Tuesday, April 1. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
