Moore Earns All-Academic Team Nod from Conference USA

Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State graduate student Kirsten Moore has been voted to the Conference USA All-Academic Team for her combined excellence on the bowling lanes and in the classroom, the conference office announced on Friday.

Moore is on the six-member All-Academic Team for the second straight season. The conference's bowling academic advisors voted from a list of 29 nominees.

Moore was the NCAA's 2024 Elite 90 Award Winner for having the highest GPA among teams at the Final Four. In addition to earning a spot on the Conference USA All-Academic Team in 2023-24, she was a three-time Southland Bowling League All-Academic selection, a four-time NTCA All-Academic pick and a two-time Academic All-District honoree. Additionally, she was named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and Honor Roll in 2023-24.

Athletically, Moore was named a Second-Team All-American by the National Tenpin Coaches Association in 2023-24, and she was an Honorable Mention All-American in 2022-23. Last season, she won three individual tournament titles while setting school records for highest traditional average and 200 games in a season. This season she has four top-20 finishes at tournaments and is averaging 20.29 pins per frame.

Moore graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor's degree in English, and she is finishing her master's degree in English.
