Guins Play Host To Lakers, Bulls Capping Off Homestand

The Youngstown State men's tennis team plays host to Buffalo on Friday and Mercyhurst on Saturday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
First serve against the Bulls is set for 5 p.m. on Friday while the contest against the Lakers gets underway at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The Penguins (6-1) are coming off a tough 4-3 loss to UIC last Sunday. Youngstown State lost the doubles point and split the six singles contests against the Flames.
Winning singles contests in that match were Onder Balci, Filip Avdeev and Viktor Van Craenenbroeck.
So far in the spring, Mahai Haita and William Rassat lead the team with five overall singles victories.
Buffalo is 4-4 this spring, including a 6-1 win over Mercyhurst on Wednesday. Mercyhurst is now 1-3 after dropping the match to the Bulls.
YSU defeated Buffalo 4-3 in its most recent contest on Jan. 26, 2023. YSU last played Mercyhurst on April 6, 1991. The Penguins won that contest by a 5-4 margin.
