Youngstown State junior wide receiver/kick returner Ky "Flash" Wilson was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference's Newcomer of the Week following his standout performance against Murray State this past Saturday.
Wilson finished with 252 all-purpose yards with a kickoff return for a touchdown and a receiving touchdown against the Racers. Wilson had three kickoff returns for 126 yards, highlighted by a school-record 100-yard score in the fourth quarter. He caught five passes or 89 yards, including a 62-yard grab in the second quarter. He also added four rushes for 37 yards with a long run of 15.
This season, Wilson has 975 all-purpose yards – 574 in kickoff returns, 345 receiving yards and 56 rushing yards.
