Youngstown State Men's Cross Country runner Patrick Burgos received his second #HLXC Men's Freshman Runner of the Week nomination of the season, the Horizon League announced Tuesday.
Burgos led the Penguin men on Friday at the Pre-National Invitational in Columbia, Mo., with a 63rd-place finish out of a field that featured 268 runners. He ran an 8K time of 24:18.9.
The Penguins finished 20th overall as a team with 480 points at the event.
Burgos also received Horizon League Freshman Runner of the Week honors on Sept. 30 after his first-place finish at the YSU Invitational Cross Country Meet in Canfield.
Patrick and the Penguins will be back in action when they travel to Fort Wayne, Ind., to compete in the Horizon League Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Mastodon Cross Country Course. The men's 8K race will begin at 11 a.m., while the women's 6K race will begin at Noon.
